The Daiwa Tatula 300P Casting Reel is one of the latest additions to the Daiwa Tatula 300 series of low-profile baitcasting reels. The aluminum frame and sideplate are lightweight and sturdily built but the real star of the 300P is Daiwa's T-Wing System (TWS). The engineering on T-Wing System level wind reels eliminates the upper frame crossbar to reduce friction for enhanced casting distance. On the cast, the line feed flows freely through the wider upper part of the T; on the retrieve, the line gets channeled through the lower and more narrow part of the T and reducing backlashes. Add in Ultimate Tournament Drag (UTD) architecture for smooth fishing stopping power, a 110 mm swept handle and large rubber knobs for power and control, plus 7+1 ball bearings and a 5.3 gear ratio, and you have one heck of a nice reel!
