A skeletonized braid-ready aluminum spool reduces weight, as does the carbon handle. A visually noticeable change from the prior version is the switch from an EVA knob to a cork handle knob. Another update is moving away from the 10-bearing system of its predecessor; this Plueger spinning reel now boasts 11 bearings with XCR ball bearings for smooth cranking and fighting.
