The FishUSA forums started in 1998 when the original FishErie.com website was launched. At that time, forums like this were known as a as a "BBS" or bulletin board service. At the time, there were very few other technology options for allowing visitors to participate and communicate with one another. 

Over the years, new alternatives have developed, including social media, and the popularity of forums has declined. The FishUSA forums have experienced this impact and user participation has diminished steadily over the years. 

We have come to the conclusion that the time has come to close down the FishUSA forums. The forums will close down on Friday, April 4, 2025. 

We sincerely appreciate everyone's participation and hope you enjoyed communicating and sharing with one another on our forums.
