RIO Trout Fly Lines are individually designed and optimized for each fly rod size. Compared to Rio's lines for more advanced anglers, most Mainstream heads and tapers are slightly shorter, with the total running line length reduced, in order to help the novice angler make the cast. This shorter head length loads a rod easier, with less line out of the guides, allowing the novice to "feel" the line loading the rod.
